AQA | Code Maintenance | Shopify Development
Challenge
True Classic was looking for an external team to come in and support theme code cleanup to optimize the site by removing outdated code, and unused apps to increase the site speed, and overall tidy up the coding landscape for their internal team to continue to build upon. They were also looking for an AQA solution that works with Shopify 2.0 blocks and liquid to help mitigate revenue falloff.
The Solution
To optimize the site, we removed outdated code, scripts and removed any unused apps. For AQA, we implemented tests using Github Actions and Playwright to catch functionality breaks, and potential points of revenue fall-off. We also implemented and integrated Pagerduty with the Playwright tests to notify on-call developers and stakeholders whenever these tests failed for quick resolution.
Final Results
Metrics and KPIs have been hidden as per client request.
Time to identify common site issues related to revenue fall-off increased drastically with a high level of precision due to the specifically tailored AQA tests. Time to respond also dropped significantly since all developers, and stakeholders were notified via Slack, Email and Phone to ensure someone could be available to resolve quickly.
